Heart of the Beast shows strong box office performance in second weekend

The survival thriller ‘Heart of the Beast’, directed by David Ayer and starring Brad Pitt, is showing resilience at the box office following a modest opening. After debuting with a $50.1 million worldwide start against an $82 million budget, the film has seen encouraging performance in its second weekend, driven by positive word of mouth and an A- audience rating.

On its second Friday, the PG-13 actioner grossed $3.2 million, representing a 58.2% drop from its opening Friday. This performance compares favorably to other recent action titles such as ‘Dog’ and ‘The Beekeeper’. The film currently holds a $30.5 million domestic total, with projections suggesting it may reach approximately $38 million domestically.

Set in the Alaskan wilderness, the film follows a Special Forces officer and his combat dog struggling to survive after a plane crash. The production involved several companies, including Paramount Pictures, Plan B Entertainment, and Temple Hill Entertainment.
