Heart of the Machine Kinship DLC to launch October 12

Hooded Horse and Arcen Games have announced the first expansion for the strategy RPG Heart of the Machine, titled Kinship. The DLC is scheduled for release on October 12, 2026, for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.

Kinship will introduce new narrative content exploring themes of community, ecology, religion, and transcendence. The expansion features three additional endings, over a dozen new objectives, and new branching storylines. Gameplay additions include a giant spider-shaped mech, new animals that can be transformed into sentient beings, and the ability to convert the game's city into a large forest. Players can also expect new structures, equipment, and enemies.

A supporter pack containing the game's soundtrack and wallpapers will also be available on the launch date.
