Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 14 Launches with Dark Gifts of Dalaran

Blizzard Entertainment released Hearthstone Battlegrounds Season 14, titled “Dark Gifts of Dalaran.” The update adds a pool of more than forty Dark Gifts—mysterious boons that grant powerful, dark‑magic enhancements to minions. Starting on turn three, players can spend three gold to discover a minion with a random Dark Gift, with the option to use the button up to three times per match.

A new Activate keyword lets certain minions spend gold to trigger abilities during the Recruit Phase, while the season introduces the Lockbox mechanic (pirates can obtain chests that release a golden minion later) and the Fishbait synergy (beasts can attack during recruitment for extra rewards). The Venomous ability was reworked to destroy the first minion damaged each combat. The minion roster expands with over sixty new cards, 23 Lesser and 24 Greater Trinkets, five new Tavern Spells, and two new heroes—Nightmare Lord Xavius and Tras’tath, Soul Parasite. Season 13 ends, Battlegrounds ratings reset, and the Rewards Track is refreshed.
