HeartLoop Games launches Poly Fighter in Early Access

Montreal-based independent studio HeartLoop Games has released its debut title, Poly Fighter, in Early Access on Steam as of October 13, 2026. The game blends traditional one-on-one fighting mechanics with roguelike progression.

In Poly Fighter, players engage in single-player combat designed to avoid the pressure of online matchmaking or ranked ladders. A core gameplay mechanic allows players to learn and adopt new techniques from defeated opponents, enabling them to customize their fighting style—such as becoming a grappler or a zoner—throughout a single run.

The Early Access version includes 16 playable characters and three distinct gameplay modes: Classic Groove, Cozy Groove (featuring optional modifiers for a more approachable experience), and Fierce Groove (featuring modifiers for increased difficulty). Creative director Osama Dorias stated the project is intended as a tribute to classic arcade fighting games.
