Hearts defeat Hibernian 3-1 in Edinburgh derby

Hearts secured a 3-1 victory over rivals Hibernian in the Edinburgh derby at Easter Road, marking their seventh consecutive match unbeaten in all competitions.

James Wilson opened the scoring for Hearts in the 14th minute, followed by a header from Laurent Mendy in the 43rd minute to give the visitors a two-goal lead at halftime. Hibernian attempted a comeback early in the second half when substitute Adam Mayor scored to make it 2-1.

However, Hibernian's momentum was halted when Jack Iredale received a second yellow card for a high boot, leaving the hosts with ten men. Shortly after the dismissal, Josh McPake scored a third goal for Hearts to seal the win. Hearts manager Wouter Vrancken praised his team's ability to maintain focus and concentration following Hibernian's brief rally.
