Hearts of Iron IV official guidebook released in Japan

ACROVE, through its GameLib label, has released the first official licensed guidebook for the grand strategy game ‘Hearts of Iron IV’ in Japan. The 744-page physical book, titled ‘Official Guidebook: Hearts of Iron IV Historical Route Strategy – Japan and Germany Edition’, was released on August 18, 2026, following a digital version released in July.

The guidebook is designed to allow players to reference complex information, such as national focuses, division templates, and technology research, without having to switch windows on their PC. It focuses on the ‘vanilla’ version (v1.17.5.2) without DLC, providing a step-by-step guide from frontline management to peace conferences. The content is structured to teach basics using Germany before moving to more complex tactics with Japan.

In addition to over 1,000 data points, the book includes exclusive interviews with the Paradox development team and was supervised by popular YouTuber Isaac Z. The physical edition is priced at 3,600 yen (excluding tax).
