Hearts of Oak registration ban lifted by FIFA
FIFA has lifted the registration ban on the Ghanaian football club Hearts of Oak following the full settlement of a financial dispute with former technical director Rene Hiddink.
The dispute arose after the club terminated Hiddink’s three-year contract before its expiration without paying the remaining balance. FIFA subsequently ordered the club to pay $150,000 and imposed a ban on registering new players until the obligation was met.
Hearts of Oak confirmed on August 18, 2026, that the outstanding amount has been paid and Hiddink has acknowledged receipt. The resolution allows the club to proceed with transfer activities and player registrations ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season.
