Los Angeles County Heat Advisory Extends Through July 10

The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Los Angeles County and surrounding valleys in Southern California, beginning in early July and remaining in effect through July 10. Temperatures are forecast to reach 90‑105 °F in interior areas and 80‑90 °F along the inland coastal plain, with peak heat expected mid‑week. The advisory cites a high risk of heat‑related illness for vulnerable groups, including the very young, the elderly, people without air conditioning, outdoor workers and pets.

Los Angeles County public‑health officials have urged residents to stay hydrated, wear lightweight clothing, limit outdoor activity during the hottest hours, and check on at‑risk individuals. The warning comes amid a broader heat wave affecting much of the United States and parts of Europe, where record temperatures have already caused numerous heat‑related deaths and disrupted travel and events.
