Heat and dry spell raise fire danger in Saxony-Anhalt; thunderstorms forecast for Saxony

The German Weather Service (DWD) warns that Saxony‑Anhalt will experience a week of warm, dry summer weather, with temperatures reaching 28‑33 °C and low humidity that increase the risk of forest and field fires. No formal weather warnings are issued, but authorities are advised to consult local forest offices for current fire‑danger levels.

In the neighbouring state of Saxony, forecasters predict a changeable pattern on Tuesday, with possible strong thunderstorms, heavy rain (15‑25 L/m², and isolated bursts over 40 L/m²), hail and wind gusts up to 70‑80 km/h. Daytime highs are expected between 26‑28 °C, dropping to 13‑16 °C overnight, while the mountainous areas remain cooler.
