Heat Wave Drives Swimmers to Ostravice River in Ostrava Region

A heat wave is set to affect the Ostrava region in the Czech Republic, with forecast temperatures rising to around 35 °C. The warm weather is prompting locals and visitors to seek relief in the Ostravice River, where water temperatures are expected to be about 20 °C. Popular swimming spots such as the Peřeje area near the Ostravice train station, as well as nearby restaurants and amenities, are drawing families and cyclists. The river basin authority, Povodí Odry, has warned of potential hazards associated with water activities and urged people to follow safety measures.
