Heat wave pushes temperatures to 35 °C across mainland Greece

The Hellenic Meteorological Service forecasts a warm spell for mainland Greece on Monday, 15 June 2026, with temperatures reaching up to 35 °C in central and southern regions. Conditions will be generally clear with light to moderate winds from the west and south-west.

From Tuesday onward, showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected, especially over the north‑eastern interior and the mountainous areas. Temperatures will dip slightly to the high 20s‑low 30s °C in the central and northern zones, while peak values of 34‑35 °C may still occur locally on the mainland. Wind speeds are projected to increase to 5‑7 Bft in the Aegean and the Ionian seas.

Overall, the coming days will see a transition from a hot, dry spell to a more unsettled pattern with intermittent rain and stronger breezes across Greece.
