Heated Rivalry creator Jacob Tierney teases second season

Jacob Tierney, the creator of the series ‘Heated Rivalry’ for HBO Max and Crave, has provided updates regarding the show’s second season. During an appearance on CBS Mornings, Tierney indicated that the new season is expected to arrive in late spring 2027.

The upcoming season will primarily adapt ‘The Long Game’, the sixth book in Rachel Reid’s ‘Game Changers’ series. The narrative will continue to focus on the relationship between characters Shane Hollander and Ilia Rozanov, exploring their lives after the events of the first season while expanding the series to include more characters and couples. Elements from the book ‘Role Model’ will also be incorporated into the storyline.

Fans have also expressed interest in whether Rihanna’s 2012 hit ‘Diamonds’ will appear in the adaptation, as the song plays a significant role in the source material.
