University of Victoria courses inspired by ‘Heated Rivalry’ reach full capacity

The popularity of Rachel Reid’s hockey romance, ‘Heated Rivalry’, has extended from television to academia at the University of Victoria. Two upcoming courses inspired by the story have already reached full capacity for the fall term.

The English department is offering a 112-seat course titled ‘English 321: Authors on Screen — Rachel Reid’s Heated Rivalry’, while the Faculty of Law is hosting a 24-seat seminar, ‘Law 357: Queering Law’, to examine the intersection of law and queer culture through the lens of the narrative.

In addition to the academic interest, production for the second season of the ‘Heated Rivalry’ television series is moving forward. Stars Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie are expected to film the sophomore season in Toronto following the greenlight from Crave and HBO.
