Heated Rivalry queer hockey romance series slated for Finnish release

Canadian author Rachel Reid's Heated Rivalry series, a New York Times bestseller that has sold 4.5 million copies in the United States and become a global queer‑hockey romance phenomenon, will be published in Finnish by Otava. The publisher plans to release the first three translated volumes in autumn 2026: Game Changer – Käänteentekijä (21 Aug), Heated Rivalry – Kuuma matsi (24 Sep) and Tough Guy – Kova jätkä (18 Dec). The remaining titles are scheduled for release throughout 2027.

The novels blend NHL competition, queer and identity themes, and intense romance, featuring characters such as NHL star Scott Hunter and his love interest Kip Grady. A TV adaptation of the series also achieved international success in 2025‑2026, expanding the fan base on platforms like TikTok and solidifying Heated Rivalry as a prominent brand in sports romance literature.
