Heather Gay faces criticism from former Bravo producer over black eye controversy

Former Bravo producer Patrick McDonald has criticized Heather Gay regarding her past controversy on ‘The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ involving a black eye. Speaking on the ‘Bravo We’re Black’ podcast, McDonald described Gay’s decision to withhold the truth about the injury as “one of the most reckless things” any cast member has done.

Gay had previously claimed she did not know how she sustained the injury, stating she had “blacked out” before waking up with the bruise. However, she later admitted that former castmate Jen Shah was responsible for the injury and that she had been covering for Shah for years due to fear.

Mcdonald expressed that the incident damaged Gay’s credibility and his personal respect for her, questioning her reliability as a narrator for the series. He also noted that the situation was potentially damaging to the production crew and expressed surprise that Gay remained on the show following the revelation.
