Heating systems and maintenance preparations for the upcoming winter season

As the heating season approaches, households in Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina are preparing their heating systems to manage costs and efficiency.

In Serbia, consumers face a choice between pellet boilers and heat pumps. Pellet boilers offer a lower initial investment, typically costing between 2,000 and 4,000 euros, and work well with older radiator systems. However, they require manual labor for cleaning and refueling, and pellet prices can be volatile. Heat pumps provide significantly lower monthly energy bills due to high efficiency, but require a higher upfront cost.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, experts recommend preventative maintenance to ensure efficiency. Key advice includes bleeding radiators while the system is off to remove air bubbles and cleaning them with microfiber cloths to improve heat flow. Additionally, servicing boilers before temperatures drop can prevent technical issues during the winter months.
