Heatwave and dry weather forecast for Southern Germany
Southern Germany is experiencing a period of high temperatures and dry conditions. In Bavaria, temperatures are expected to reach between 30 and 36 degrees Celsius, with localized showers or thunderstorms possible in the afternoons due to low-pressure systems over Sweden and France.
In Baden-Württemberg, the weather remains mostly sunny and summery. Temperatures are forecasted to range from 29 degrees in the Black Forest to up to 36 degrees in the Kraichgau region. The German Meteorological Service (DWD) indicates that significant rainfall is unlikely, with occasional showers potentially yielding only 20 liters per square meter.
Looking ahead, temperatures are expected to rise further towards the end of the week, with potential highs of 37 degrees in the Rhine Valley. Wednesday is expected to be particularly clear, providing good visibility for the upcoming solar eclipse, which is predicted to begin around 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM toward the western horizon.
