Heatwave brings up to 34 °C in Greece with local showers on June 15

Greece will experience a hot summer day on Monday, June 15, with temperatures climbing to 34 °C in the southern parts and reaching 32‑33 °C in most island areas. The day will be largely sunny, with only light cloud cover. Isolated showers are expected in mountainous zones of Macedonia, the Peloponnese and central mainland regions, while visibility may be reduced in the early morning and evening in northern and central areas.

Winds will be generally weak, though the south‑eastern Aegean could see breezes up to 5 Beaufort and the north‑eastern Aegean may experience gusts up to 7 Beaufort. A forecast for the rest of the week shows continued high temperatures early on, followed by increasing atmospheric instability mid‑week that could bring local thunderstorms and stronger breezes across the Aegean, before returning to clearer conditions later in the weekend.
