Heavy rainfall causes flooding in Salou and Sabadell

Heavy rainfall and torrential storms have caused flooding across parts of Catalonia, Spain, particularly in the Camp de Tarragona region. In Salou, intense downpours led to flooded streets in areas such as Plaça Europa, Carles Buïgues street, and the Xalets zone, catching tourists by surprise. Meteocat issued an orange alert for several provinces, including Tarragonès, Baix Camp, and Ribera d’Ebre, warning of high precipitation intensity.

In Sabadell, the CN Sabadell sports club at Can Llong suffered damage after receiving over 170 liters of rain per square meter. The facility is undergoing cleaning to remove mud and water. While indoor pools and gyms remain operational for water polo and children's classes, the outdoor pool, crossfit room, and certain changing rooms have been affected and face temporary closures for repairs.
