Fatal collision in Los Ángeles and road safety works in Pedrozo

In Chile, a fatal collision on Route 5 in Los Ángeles has resulted in the death of Corporal Iván Burgos Sáez of the Chilean Army. The accident occurred during a military patrol under a state of emergency. A truck driver has been detained and faces potential charges for driving under the influence of psychotropic substances. Several other individuals, including a police officer and two other military personnel, sustained injuries, with one soldier remaining in intensive care.

In Paraguay, the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) is addressing the aftermath of a tragic accident in Pedrozo that killed six people. Following the incident, where a truck struck several stationary vehicles, authorities have begun removing the traffic light at the intersection. The MOPC has also secured the final necessary property to proceed with the construction of a grade-separated crossing and pedestrian bridge, a project intended to improve safety for approximately 60,000 people in the area.
