Heavy rains disrupt sporting activities in Argentina

Heavy rainfall has disrupted sporting activities in different regions of Argentina. In Eldorado, the Student Olympics 2026 concluded with final matches in Futsal and Volleyball. Key winners included EPCE N° 19 and CEP N° 49 in Futsal, while EPET N° 6 and ISFA secured titles in Volleyball. A closing ceremony is scheduled to award the final institutional honors.

In Comodoro Rivadavia, intense storms have forced the suspension of local football and Regional Tournament matches. The flooding has severely impacted sports infrastructure, notably at the Oeste Juniors grounds in Valle C, where the pitch was almost entirely submerged. Authorities suspended activities to ensure the safety of players, technical staff, and officials due to the poor condition of the fields.
