Heavy rains flood streets in Monte Mor and Campinas, Brazil

In Monte Mor, São Paulo, the Capivari River overflowed on 24 March after the municipality recorded more than 60 mm of rain in 48 hours, flooding three streets including Rua Siqueira Campos. The floodwater receded the following day and no injuries or displacements were reported.

In the nearby city of Campinas, 48 mm of rain fell within 24 hours, causing two trees to topple on Rua Doutor Olímpio da Silva Miranda and Rua Presidente Bernardes. Municipal crews removed the trees and addressed water intrusion at a health centre, but no casualties were recorded.
