Heavy Rains in Tamil Nadu and Telangana Cause Landslides and Fish Fall
Intense monsoon rains in India's Tamil Nadu and Telangana states have triggered severe hazards. In Idduki district of Tamil Nadu, heavy downpours caused landslides that buried homes, killing three people and injuring several others. The district administration imposed night‑time travel bans on mountain roads and suspended trekking and boat services, urging only essential travel.
In Telangana's Mancherial district, the same downpours led to a rare phenomenon where hundreds of fish fell from the sky as rain, startling residents and spreading quickly on social media. Experts explained that strong updrafts can lift fish from flooded water bodies and deposit them with rain.
Authorities in both states have activated relief camps, deployed cranes and earth‑moving equipment, and warned the public to follow official safety directives.
