Hebron, Indiana shooting leaves one dead and one injured

A shooting at an antique and accessories shop in Hebron, Indiana, left one woman dead and another injured on Saturday night. The incident occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. at Karmic Sunshine, located in the 2900 block of West 181st Avenue.

According to preliminary investigations by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department and Indiana State Police, a 62-year-old man allegedly shot and killed a woman inside the store. He also shot a 24-year-old woman who was attempting to flee the scene. The wounded woman was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities believe the suspect subsequently died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene. While a young child and another man were present during the shooting, neither was injured. Law enforcement officials stated that the scene is secure and there is no ongoing threat to the public.
