Hebron residents face mass displacement and legal action

Ongoing Israeli military operations in Hebron have led to significant humanitarian distress, with reports indicating that up to 619 families have been affected. Approximately 3,971 citizens have been forcibly displaced from their homes, particularly in the Deir Baha and Al-Jalda areas.

Local authorities and the Crisis Cell and Support Committee have implemented a 96-hour emergency plan to provide essential aid to those displaced. Many families are currently staying with relatives, in rented homes, or in temporary shelters, while others remain trapped in their residences due to movement restrictions and closures.

In response to the situation, the Hebron Municipality is preparing a legal dossier to document violations for submission to the International Criminal Court (ICC). Officials state that the forced evictions, home closures, and movement restrictions may constitute war crimes under international humanitarian law. Additionally, reports indicate that at least 85 citizens have been arrested during the ongoing operations.
