HEC Pakistan and AIT Thailand partner on disability policy

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) in Thailand have partnered to host an immersion programme and workshop focused on disability policy in Pakistani higher education institutions.

The initiative aims to improve institutional capacity regarding accessibility, inclusion, and support services for students with disabilities. Participants engaged in course design workshops and reviewed training needs to develop a structured curriculum and a comprehensive training framework for adaptation in Pakistani universities.

The programme included practical exposure through visits to Kasetsart University, Thammasat University, and King Mongkut’s University of Technology. These visits allowed participants to observe physical infrastructure, support facilities, and student-support systems. The collaboration is expected to lead to a formal cooperation framework between HEC and AIT.
