Heckler & Koch reports record profits amid rising NATO defense spending

Heckler & Koch has reported record financial results for the first half of 2026, driven by increased defense spending among NATO member states following the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The German arms manufacturer saw its revenue rise to 263.9 million euros, a 47.1 percent increase compared to the previous year. Net profit more than tripled, climbing from 11.8 million euros to 40.8 million euros.

Key clients include the German Bundeswehr, France, Norway, and several Baltic states. A significant boost came in July when the Bundeswehr exercised a framework agreement to increase its order of assault rifles from 120,000 to 250,000 units.

To support this growth, the company plans to significantly increase its investment program. Following approximately 100 million euros invested between 2020 and 2025, the firm intends to spend an additional 230 million euros by the end of 2028 on new machinery, infrastructure modernization, and production efficiency. The company also plans to expand its pistol assembly facility in the United States.
