Hedera strengthens McLaren partnership while HBAR market cap stays near $3 billion
Hedera Hashgraph highlighted its ongoing partnership with McLaren Racing after Lando Norris won the Hungarian Grand Prix. The collaboration, which began in January 2026, makes Hedera an official sponsor of both the McLaren Formula 1 and Arrow McLaren IndyCar teams, placing Hedera branding on cars and racing gear and issuing limited‑edition digital collectibles at Grand Prix events.
In March, McLaren was added to the Hedera Governing Council, joining other major corporations such as Google, IBM and FedEx in overseeing network policy and maintenance. Around the same time, Hedera’s native token HBAR traded near $0.069, keeping the cryptocurrency’s market capitalization at roughly $3 billion.
The network also reported growth in tokenized non‑U.S. government‑debt projects, with $3.5 million of value distributed and a 102 % increase in activity. Hedera announced a planned release of more than 4 billion HBAR this quarter and completed a v0.74 mainnet upgrade that separates live consensus from historical storage to improve scalability. Additionally, full EVM compatibility was added to its Smart Contract Service, simplifying migration for Solidity developers.
