HEEL psychological thriller set for Japanese release

The psychological thriller “HEEL” (originally titled “Good Boy”), directed by Jan Komasa, is scheduled for theatrical release in Japan on November 27, 2025. The film, which had its world premiere at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival, follows the story of Tommy, a 19-year-old man who is kidnapped and held in a remote house.

In the film, a mysterious family attempts to “re-educate” Tommy through a system of rewards and punishments to turn him into a “good boy.” The cast includes Steven Graham, Andrea Riseborough, Anson Boone, and Kit Lausen. The production features prominent producers such as Jerzy Skolimowski and the late Jeremy Thomas.

Accompanying the release announcement are new teaser visuals and scene photography depicting the protagonist in a state of confinement. The film explores themes of morality, control, and the blurred lines between victim and captor.
