Heidekreis celebrates 20 years of social community work

The Heidekreis district is celebrating 20 years of social community work (Sozialraumarbeit). To mark the anniversary, a children's festival will be held at the Idingen youth farm on September 20 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

The social community work initiative is designed to provide accessible, local support for families, children, and adolescents. By dividing the district into six social areas, the program ensures that counseling and assistance are available close to residents' homes. The initiative focuses on identifying both the challenges faced by families and the existing strengths within their environments to find appropriate support through direct contact or connections to local services.
