Heidelberg and Butzbach schedule public tours in August 2026

The Stadtwerke Heidelberg will lead a two‑hour water‑supply tour on 6 August 2026, starting at 17:30 at the Turnerbrunnen in the Handschuhsheim valley. Participants will walk from the Schmitt’sche source to the Spechelsgrund source and back, learning about the development of Heidelberg’s drinking‑water system and its historic sources. The town of Butzbach has announced a series of guided walks for August 2026. On 7 August at 17:00, guide Melanie Krings‑Dorn will lead a city tour highlighting the historic market square, the Markuskirche, and Butzbach Castle. On 8 August at 09:00, naturalist Klaus Müller will conduct a nature walk in the Isseltal, focusing on local flora, fauna, and traditional hunting practices.
