Heidelberg Materials opens new waste recycling facility in Leeds

Heidelberg Materials UK has opened a new construction, demolition, and excavation (CD&E) waste recycling facility in Leeds. Located adjacent to the company’s existing asphalt plant, the facility is designed to process approximately 250,000 tonnes of waste annually.

The site accepts various materials, including bricks, concrete, soil, and selected wastes from utility contracts. These materials are diverted from landfills to be processed into recycled sustainable products. Builders and contractors can utilize the site to deliver waste and collect both primary aggregates and asphalt, as well as high-quality recycled aggregates.

General Manager Billy Benton stated that the facility provides responsible and sustainable access for tipping CD&E wastes. The investment is intended to support the circular economy and meet the growing demand for sustainable construction products by conserving natural resources.
