Heidelberger Druckmaschinen expands software integration in packaging sector

Heidelberger Druckmaschinen is accelerating its strategic shift from traditional machine sales toward integrated software and service solutions. The company recently announced a partnership with Turkish packaging and label printer Sade Ofset, which will integrate the Prinect software solution into its workflows. The system will be utilized across various production stages, including pre-press, machine control, and production planning.

This move follows a previous agreement on October 1 with the pfenning-Gruppe to develop integrated solutions for pharmaceutical packaging production. This collaboration aims to connect printing, packaging, and logistics into a seamless process chain for pharmaceutical products.

Despite these strategic expansions into regulated packaging and digital workflows, the company’s stock has faced significant pressure, declining approximately 31 percent since the beginning of the year to a price of 1.40 euros. The company is also undergoing leadership changes at its subsidiary, Gallus Group.
