A severe head-on collision occurred late Saturday evening at a major intersection in Heidenheim, Baden-Württemberg. The accident took place at the junction of Wilhelmstraße and Heckentalstraße when one driver failed to yield the right of way while turning.
The impact between a Mitsubishi and a BMW was forceful enough to propel both vehicles into a traffic light pole, causing it to collapse. The Mitsubishi subsequently overturned on its side. Emergency responders utilized heavy equipment to extricate the driver of the Mitsubishi, who sustained serious injuries.
In total, five people were injured in the crash. Four occupants from the second vehicle sustained minor injuries, while the driver of the Mitsubishi was transported to a clinic with severe injuries. All victims have been taken to medical facilities for treatment.
