Heidi Janků discusses personal life and family history

Czech singer and musical actress Heidi Janků has shared intimate details regarding her personal life and family history during a podcast appearance with Agáta Hanychová.

Janků discussed her decision not to have children, citing her intense career focus and the significant age gap between her and her husband, musician Ivo Pavlík. She noted that Pavlík is over thirty years her senior and already had children from previous relationships. Janků expressed concerns that her career would have to halt to accommodate motherhood and voiced worries regarding the age of her husband should they have had a child. Additionally, she mentioned a lack of a strong family support system due to personal tragedies.

Reflecting on her upbringing, Janků described a difficult childhood marked by the loss of her mother to cancer when she was eleven years old. She also detailed her father's struggle with alcoholism, which intensified following her mother's death, and the subsequent death of her brother. These events led to a strained relationship with her father, eventually resulting in her leaving home to live with her first husband, after which they ceased communication until his death.
