Heidi Overton nominated by President Trump to lead the FDA

President Donald Trump has nominated physician Heidi Overton to serve as the commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). Overton, a current White House policy adviser, has previously worked with Health Secretary Kennedy and Dr. Mehmet Oz.

If confirmed by the Senate, Overton will lead the agency responsible for regulating the nation’s food supply, drug prices, vaccines, and clinical trials. The administration has tasked her with accelerating medical innovation, reforming clinical trials, and advancing the ‘Make America Healthy Again’ movement.

Pro-life organizations have expressed immediate support for the nomination. John Mize, executive director of Americans United for Life, praised her scientific and medical background, while Lila Rose, founder of Live Action, called for the commissioner to take action regarding the availability of abortion pills.
