Heije Wubs furniture store to close after 60 years

The long-standing furniture store Heije Wubs Meubelen & Woninginrichting in Onstwedde is closing its doors after 60 years of operation. Owners Wessel and Jeannet Wubs, who managed the business for 41 years, cited a lack of succession, health reasons, and a desire to focus on family as the primary reasons for the decision.

A clearance sale of the store and warehouse has commenced, with the business expected to officially close on November 28. Local residents have expressed regret over the loss of the well-known establishment.
