Heilbronn to host second ‘AI in Tourism’ Barcamp in 2027

The second edition of the ‘AI in Tourism’ Barcamp is scheduled to take place from February 19 to 21, 2027, in Heilbronn, Germany. Organized by Realizing Progress in partnership with the Verband Internet Reisevertrieb e. V. (VIR), the event aims to provide a platform for the tourism, technology, and science sectors to discuss the rapid developments in artificial intelligence.

Hosted by the Institute of Tourism, Travel & Hospitality (ITTH) at Hochschule Heilbronn, the three-day conference will build upon the success of its 2025 premiere. Topics are expected to include AI-supported travel planning, digital guest communication, agentic AI, no-code applications, data protection, transparency, and the ethical implications of AI use in the industry.

The event will feature practical formats, such as a workshop hosted by sponsor one. intelligence, where participants can engage in ‘vibe-coding’ to develop initial functional solutions with minimal programming knowledge.
