Hein Mück restaurant in Travemünde listed as endangered landmark
The former Hein Mück restaurant in Travemünde has been listed as endangered in the 2024/25 ‘Black Book of Monument Preservation’ by the German Foundation for Monument Protection. Built in 1898, the Swiss-style house served as a local landmark and social hub for approximately 120 years before closing its doors at the end of 2019.
Local residents have expressed significant concern and nostalgia regarding the building's current state of decay. Once a popular meeting point for various local groups and known for its traditional seafood, the structure is now surrounded by modern new builds and appears to be falling into disrepair.
