Heineken to move Březňák beer production from Velký Březno
Heineken is ceasing beer production at its Velký Březno brewery in the Ústí region of the Czech Republic. The company will relocate the production of the Březňák brand to its other facilities, such as Starobrno or Krušovice, while maintaining the original recipe, raw materials, and traditional production methods.
Robert Kičina, Director of External Relations for Heineken Czech Republic, stated that the decision is a gradual response to market developments, specifically declining beer consumption in the Czech Republic and rising energy costs. While brewing will stop, the site will continue to function as a distribution and logistics hub. Heineken also plans to invest in the location to create a space that showcases the Březňák brand heritage.
The transition is expected to affect approximately 20 employees, and the company is actively seeking alternative employment opportunities for them within the organization.
