Heino discusses estrangement from son and new life in Austria

German Schlager singer Heino, 87, has spoken openly about his current living situation and the breakdown of his relationship with his biological son, Uwe Kramm. During an appearance on the SWR talk show ‘Nachtcafé’, Heino described feeling as though he has ‘heaven on earth’ due to his new ‘chosen family.’

Since the death of his wife, Hannelore, in 2023, Heino has been living in Kitzbühel, Austria, with his manager, Helmut Werner, Werner’s wife Nicole, and their young son. Heino expressed that Werner has become like a son to him, providing significant emotional support.

In contrast, Heino revealed a complete lack of contact with his biological son, Uwe. He stated that he has not seen or heard from him for three years, including during major holidays. While Heino described his son as a ‘great disappointment,’ Uwe’s wife, Vera Kramm, has previously contested this, claiming that Heino had failed to show acceptance toward their family.
