Heiterwang traffic accident leaves three seriously injured

A serious traffic accident occurred early Saturday morning on the B179 Fernpass route in the municipality of Heiterwang, Tyrol. According to police, a 43-year-old German woman turning from a commercial area into the Fernpass road collided with a vehicle traveling north.

The force of the impact sent the second vehicle into an adjacent field. The driver of that car, a 48-year-old Romanian national, sustained minor injuries. However, his 47-year-old passenger, the German driver, and her 45-year-old passenger all suffered serious injuries and were transported to nearby hospitals.

The Fernpass road was closed for approximately two hours while emergency services, including 18 firefighters from Heiterwang, medical teams, and police, attended the scene. Authorities are currently investigating the exact cause of the collision.
