Helen Jenner elected leader of Reform UK Wales

Reform UK has announced a leadership reshuffle in Wales following the resignation of Dan Thomas. Helen Jenner, the former deputy leader and Member of the Senedd for Bangor Conwy Môn, has been elected as the new leader of the party in Wales.

Thomas stepped down after being arrested on suspicion of assault and controlling or coercive behaviour. While he has been released on bail and denies any wrongdoing, he stated his resignation was necessary to prevent personal headlines from distracting the party. He remains a member of the Senedd.

Nigel Farage, the UK leader of Reform UK, described the leadership transition as a “bump in the road” and expressed confidence in Jenner. To complete the new leadership structure, Laura Anne Jones has been named as the deputy leader for Reform UK in Wales.
