Helen Mirren discusses views on marriage and divorce

Actress Helen Mirren shared her perspectives on marriage and divorce during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show. Mirren stated that while she does not have an issue with marriage, she has “something against divorce.”

Mirren explained that she waited until the age of 38 to marry director Taylor Hackford to ensure the relationship was built for the long term. She noted that she and Hackford remain married, adding that she did not see the purpose of marriage if it might lead to divorce. She advised that individuals should wait until they are certain a relationship is meant to last.
