Helen Mirren stars as Patricia Highsmith in new thriller

Oscar winner Helen Mirren stars as crime novelist Patricia Highsmith in the new thriller film ‘Ein Talent fürs Morden’ (A Talent for Murder), directed by Anton Corbijns. The film, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival, depicts Highsmith living a reclusive life at the foot of the Swiss Alps, surrounded by books and antique weapons.

The plot follows Highsmith as she is approached by ambitious editor Edward Ridgeway, played by Alden Ehrenreich, who seeks to revive her famous character, Tom Ripley. Highsmith agrees to collaborate on a new story under the condition that Ridgeway must plan the perfect murder. As they work together, the boundaries between fiction and reality begin to blur, leading to a dangerous game of cat and mouse.
