Helen Mirren to star in ‘A Talent for Murder’ thriller

The trailer for the psychological thriller ‘A Talent for Murder’ has been released, featuring Helen Mirren in the role of legendary crime novelist Patricia Highsmith. Directed by Anton Corbijn, the film is based on Joanna Murray-Smith’s 2014 play, ‘Switzerland’.

The plot follows a young New York literary agent, played by Alden Ehrenreich, who travels to Highsmith’s secluded home in Switzerland to persuade her to write a final installment of her celebrated ‘Ripley’ series. The encounter between the agent and the reclusive author becomes increasingly sinister and complicated.

The cast also includes Olivia Cooke and Juliet Stevenson. Bleecker Street will release the film in theaters on October 23, 2026, following a world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival next month.
