Helena Fibingerová injured in serious forest accident

Former shot put world champion Helena Fibingerová has suffered a serious shoulder injury following a fall in a remote forest area. The 77-year-old athlete reported that during her regular physical activity, she fell and lost her mobile phone, leaving her unable to call for help. She attempted to crawl approximately 30 meters before falling into a ravine.

Rescuers located her after three hours. Fibingerová described the experience as extremely painful, noting a large hematoma around her shoulder joint. Doctors in Hradiště are currently monitoring the injury, with recovery expected to take at least two months.

The accident has also impacted her personal life, forcing her to postpone her wedding to her partner, Jan, which had been scheduled for November 9.
