Aida Begić's 'Zrak u boci' Wins TRT International Co‑Production Award

The film project "Zrak u boci", written and directed by Aida Begić and produced by Snežana van Houwelingen, was awarded the TRT International Co‑Production Award at Turkey's 12 Punto platform. The winners were announced on 19 July after a week‑long programme of master‑classes, workshops and pitching sessions. The international jury was chaired by two‑time Oscar winner Asghar Farhadi, underscoring the award’s prestige.

The project is a co‑production involving Bosnia‑Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Montenegro and Turkey, with filming slated to begin by the end of the year. Earlier recognitions include the Cinelink Industry Days prize at the Sarajevo Film Festival and the UNIQA Female Filmmakers Award at Slano Film Days 2025. Begić said, "I am very happy because ‘Zrak u boci’ is recognised on many international markets. In these challenging times for domestic production, this award means a lot." The prize aims to foster cross‑border collaboration and increase Turkish producers’ presence in European and global co‑productions.
