Helensburgh cafe submits retrospective plans to council
Graeme Shearer has submitted retrospective planning applications to the Argyll and Bute Council to convert a dance studio in Helensburgh into a café. The premises, located at 11 Colquhoun Square, is currently occupied by Overflow coffee shop.
The proposal seeks a change of use from assembly and leisure to food and drink, covering both on-site consumption and takeaway services. The application specifies that food preparation will be limited to toasted sandwiches, with no full cooking occurring on the site.
Following a previous application that was withdrawn due to miscommunication, the applicant is now working with council officers to resolve the matter. A decision from council officials is expected by late November, and the public is invited to submit feedback via the council's online planning portal.
