Helga Monson de Kansky continues teaching ballet at age 99

Helga Monson de Kansky, a 99-year-old former professional ballerina, continues to teach ballet in Pasadena, California. Having started dancing at the age of six, she has been active in the art form for 93 years.

After studying in New York and performing on prestigious international stages, Monson de Kansky transitioned into motherhood before returning to the dance world through a dance school. She has been teaching students for approximately 25 years. Her students describe her as highly creative, noting that her choreography remains fresh and challenging to follow. Monson de Kansky, who will celebrate her 100th birthday this December, expressed to the Los Angeles Times that she does not feel her age and has no intention of retiring from dance.
